Going for hipster Raya at Sunway Lagoon

YOU HAVE probably heard the joke about how much a hipster weighs (answer: an Instagram, with the platform being a favourite of hipsters).

Now, you can have fun acting like one and experience a fun day out with family and friends at Sunway Lagoon, which is marking the festive season with a trendy Hipster Raya celebration.

Start the day with a special welcome by the talented dancers of the Stellar Hipster Raya Welcome Dance at Sunway Lagoon’s main entrance at 9.25am before hitting the trail to partake of the amazing lineup of activities for the whole family.

There are six different areas to explore around the Sunway Lagoon theme park, including the Water Park, Scream Park, Amusement Park, Extreme Park, Wildlife Park and the Nickelodeon Lost Lagoon.

But don’t miss the dance along at the Hipster Raya Stage at the Carousel as the Cray Cray DJ spins the latest hits.

Also get that picture perfect shot on Instagram with the group of stylish hipsters at the Hipster Raya Posse photo booth at Zulu Walk.

End your visit with another fun dance party, this time with the Stellar Hipster Raya Finale Dance beginning at 5.30pm at the Hipster Raya Stage at the Carousel.

Sunway Lagoon general manager Sean Choo said: “With the Raya celebrations now in full swing, we are encouraging families and friends alike to spend quality time together.

“They can enjoy a different Raya with our special hipster-themed activities, go on multiple rides and attractions, learn about wildlife, meet and greet your favourite television characters … and the list goes on. We want our guests to create fond memories for themselves to look back on.”

All you need to do to take part is to spend a minimum of RM100 (up to three combined receipts at Sunway Lagoon’s retail stores, tube rental shop, lockers or food and beverage stores) to get an entry form.
