ASUS MALAYSIA recently launched a new line-up of thin-and-light ZenBook and VivoBook laptops which, according to the tech company, includes some of the world’s thinnest and lightest devices in their respective classes.
The list begins with the Asus ZenBook 3 Deluxe (UX490).
Available now for RM8,299, this allaluminium 13in laptop is 12.9mm thick and weighs 1.1kg. According to Asus, it is also the world’s thinnest 14in laptop.
Inside its slim casing is the latest 7th Generation Intel Core i7-7500U processor, 16GB of 2133MHz LPDDR3 RAM, and a 1TB PCI Express SSD. There are also two USB Type-C ports which are Thunderbolt 3enabled.
ZenBook 3 Deluxe comes with Windows 10 and is also equipped with a fingerprint sensor for easy one-touch login with Windows Hello.
Another device is the Asus Zenbook Pro (UX550), which the company says is the thinnest, lightest and most powerful ZenBook Pro yet. Priced at RM7,299, the device will only be available in the beginning of August.
Powering the device is the 7th Generation Intel Core i7-7700HQ quad-core processor paired with the gaming-grade Nvidia GeForce GTX1050 graphics card, a 512GB PCIe x4 SSD, and 16GB DDR4 RAM.
It also features a 15.6in full high-definition NanoEdge, which means it has thin bezels, and a quad-speaker Harman Kardon surround-sound audio.
The ZenBook Pro also features Windows 10 and is equipped with a fingerprint sensor for quick and secure one-touch login with Windows Hello.
The laptop measures 18.9mm thick and weighs 1.8kg.
If you prefer a convertible, there is the Asus ZenBook Flip S (UX370). It is referred to as the world’s thinnest convertible laptop by Asus, at just 10.9mm thick and weighing in at 1.1kg.
Also a Windows 10 machine, the device is equipped with the 7th Generation Intel Core i7-7500U processor and a 512GB PCIe SSD. Its display supports active stylus, and has the world’s smallest fingerprint sensor for a laptop.
The Asus ZenBook Flip S will also only be available from the beginning of August for RM6,699.
For those who are looking for performance over form, look no further than the Asus VivoBook Pro 15 (N580). This RM4,799, 15.6in full highdefinition laptop is powered by a 7th Generation Intel Core i77700HQ quad-core processor with 4GB DDR4 RAM and gaming-grade Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 graphics. It features Harman Kardon-certified audio, including twin speakers with large 8cc audio chambers and smart-amplifier technology for 3.2X louder volume. It will be available at the beginning of August as well. Last but not least is the Asus VivoBook S15 (S510). Priced at RM3,699 for the i7 variant and RM2,899 for the i5 option, this laptop should be available now. The top-of-the-line version features the latest 7th Generation Intel Core i77500U processor with 4GB DDR4 memory and Nvidia GeForce 940MX graphics, all in a package that weighs 1.5kg, and 17.9mm thick. All these devices will be available at Asus branded stores and authorised retailers nationwide.
