Honda Jazz Petrol: Perfect match to every kind of fun

> ‘Load your big dream’, says Honda, as the little MPV fits so much more than just belongings

-

THE third-generation Honda Jazz has been its segment leader with over 47,000 units sold in Malaysia since its launch in 2014. The facelifted, petrol-powered Jazz (Honda Malaysia simply refers to its as “Jazz Petrol” since there’s a hybrid variant too) is powered by a 1.5-litre engine with i-VTEC, coupled with continuous variable transmission (CVT) developed under Honda’s Earth Dreams Technology. This combined powertrain, according to Honda, makes the Energy Efficient Vehiclecertified vehicle able to give “a fun yet fuel-efficient driveability to the driver”.

The facelifted Jazz Petrol, launched for the Malaysian market on June 6, is available in three variants – the S, E and V. New chrome front grille, new front and rear bumper design, push start button and smart entry, and ECON mode will be made standard across all variants. Other enhancements include dual-tone alloy wheels for the V variant, LED daytime running lights and reverse camera (top, left) for both E and V variants.

The V variant has paddle shifting (top, middle) and cruise control for exciting and smooth driving experience, and half-leather seats for prolonged comfort in the vehicle, while the E variant boasts a touch panel auto air-conditioning system. Both the E and V variants are equipped with 6.8-inch display audio.

Developed under Honda’s “Man Maximum, Machine Minimum” principle, the new Jazz Petrol lineup retains the iconic Ultra Seats – a feature unique only to the Jazz with four modes: Utility, Long, Tall and Refresh, for space maximisation for driver, passengers and goods. The multiconfiguration modes of the seats allow the car to be configured for all occasions, be it short or longdistance driving.

Equally well-equipped safety-wise, the new Jazz lineup carries a five-Star Asean NCAP safety rating. Brake Assist (BA) and Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) are available across all variants. The V variant has six airbags while the E variant has four. Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), Emergency Stop Signal (ESS) and Hill Start Assist (HSA) are available in both V and E variants.

There are five colour choices – Modern Steel Metallic, Lunar Silver Metallic, Carnival Red, Taffeta White and Crystal Black Pearl.

A Jazz comes with a five-year unlimited mileage warranty. Prices are RM74,800 for S variant; RM81,000 (E variant) and RM88,400 (V variant). All prices are on-the-road with insurance and GST.

Honda Malaysia believes that the pricing is an appealing factor for the Jazz Petrol especially to single and married national car upgraders, working adults and young executives.

For owners who want to “spice up” their rides, Honda Malaysia also offers the stylish Mugen accessory packages. The Mugen package, at RM5,670, includes front, side and rear under spoiler with tailgate spoiler, and will be available from October. The Urban package is priced at RM1,580 and the Utility package goes for RM820.
