Missing AG’s Chambers officer found safe

PUTRAJAYA: An officer from the Attorney-General’s Chambers (AGC), who was reported missing on July 17, was found safe at a premises near his rented house in Precint 9 here on Monday.

Putrajaya district police chief ACP Rosly Hassan said Azmeer Mohd Sardi also known as Mohd Basdi, 36, was located by police near the Putra Harmoni apartment complex at 9.30am.

“Upon locating the ‘missing person’, he was taken to the Putrajaya district police station and handed over to his family.

“Some AGC officers were also present at the scene,” he said in a statement yesterday.

Azmeer was later sent to the Putrajaya Hospital for treatment and was reported to be in stable condition.

Rosly said Azmeer, who works in the AGC Law Revision and Reform Division, went missing after he was discharged from the Putrajaya Hospital following treatment for a minor accident.

Azmeer’s colleague, who was alerted to his disappeara­nce, informed the police and lodged a missing persons report on July 17.

“His colleague realised this after he failed to show up for work for five days,” he added.

According to Azmeer’s wife, who resides separately in Shah Alam, he was last seen on the first day of Hari Raya.

She also confirmed that Azmeer is suffering from depression.

His family also revealed that on some occasions, it was difficult for close family members to contact Azmeer as he constantly changed his phone number.
