Tribute to Abba by Swedish band

AC MUSIC Entertainment is bringing in renowned Abba tribute band Arrival ( far right) to perform The Music of Abba concert at the KLCC Plenary Hall in Kuala Lumpur on Sept 2 and 3 at 8.30pm.

This international best-selling Swedish band will be entertaining fans with Abba’s hit songs such as Mamma Mia, Dancing Queen, Super Trouper, Knowing Me Knowing You, The Winner Takes It All, Money Money Money, S.O.S, Take a Chance on Me, Waterloo, Fernando, Chiquitita, Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! and Thank You for the Music.

This will be Arrival’s second time in Malaysia. In 2010, the band performed in two sell-out concerts at Resorts World Genting.

Abba is arguably one of the greatest pop groups of all time. This legendary Swedish pop group was formed in Stockholm in 1972 by members Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, and Anni-Frid Lyngstad.

In 1974, the group won the Eurovision Song Contest at The Dome in Brighton, UK, with the song Waterloo. To date, it remains the most successful group to take part in the competition.

Abba became Sweden’s biggest music export ever, selling over 400 million records. Its music has been used in several films, such as Muriel’s Wedding and The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, both which came out in 1994 and revived interest in the group.

In 1999, Abba’s music was adapted into the successful musical Mamma Mia! which toured worldwide. A film of the same name was released in 2008, starring Meryl Streep and Pierce Brosnan.

This is not counting the popularity of the PlayStation game SingStar Abba, and Abba: The Museum, which opened up Stockholm, Sweden.

Abba’s legacy has continued ever since, with Arrival keeping the flame alive as the world’s most popular and best-selling Abba show band.

Since 1995, Arrival has toured over 60 nations and appeared in many TV and radio shows around the world. Not only do the members sing and perform as Abba, their costumes are also inspired by the iconic band.
