Petronas showcases its journey to mark Merdeka
KUALA LUMPUR: In conjunction with the National Day and Malaysia Day celebrations, Petronas yesterday launched its campaign at Petronas Twin Towers to show the company and the country’s progress.
The campaign showcases a special exhibition titled “Julang” at Galeri Petronas.
The exhibition, which ends on Sept 17, takes viewers on a visual tour of Petronas’ 43-year journey with posters of Malaysian leaders and what they said about the company.
“For Petronas, as the custodian of the nation’s hydrocarbon resources, the translation of this vision has been the cornerstone of all that we have done over the last 43 years with a remarkable outcome. This is what the exhibition ‘Julang’ has so eloquently captured,” said Petronas chairman Tan Sri Sidek Hassan at the launch.
Petronas has also come out with a four-minute webfilm, titled Piala Taman Thomas, featuring badminton legends Rashid Sidek and Foo Kok Keong. It was directed by Ismail Kamarul in Klang Valley.
It tells the story of badminton being played in an open place with some children of different races challenging some adults to a game.
Rashid said the webfilm will encourage young talents to work hard to achieve success while Foo expressed his hope that it would inspire Malaysia’s SEA Games athletes to give their best in their campaign to emerge overall champions. –
