LET’S welcome the latest entrant to the automotive market – the Foton View C2 Window Van! Berjaya China Motor Sdn Bhd (BCM), the exclusive distributor and marketer for Chinese Commercial Automotive marque Foton Motor Group (FMG) in Malaysia, has officially introduced the new dieselpowered View C2 Window Van in Malaysia. The new model will complement the current Foton View C2 petrol model to offer greater flexibility and convenience for customers looking for a reliable, highly-efficient and affordable transport.

“The new View C2 diesel variant represents our latest offering to the Malaysian market and it arrives at the opportune time to complement our existing range of products available here,” says Datuk Donald Choo, BCM’s CEO. “With a proven and efficient engine along with class-leading features and comfort, the new View C2 diesel as well as View C2 petrol variants are ideal vehicles to service the transport needs of our customers.”

The company explains that the new View C2 Diesel is powered by a 2.8-litre turbodiesel engine supported by “Japanese-engineered technology”. Paired with a fivespeed manual transmission, the powerplant produces a total output of 94hp@3,600rpm with a maximum torque of 225Nm @ 2,300rpm. The engine fitted with a Bosch high pressure common rail system, turbocharge intercooler and electronic control EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation), which is compliant with EURO 4 emission standards, will offer customers proven environmental friendly performance, reliability and as well as high-efficiency, which translates to lower operating costs.

“Similarly, the View C2 petrol variant is equipped with a Japanese-engineered 2.0-litre naturally-aspirated four-cylinder engine, which outputs 127.4hp @ 5,000rpm with 193Nm of torque @ 3,200-4,500 rpm and also paired with a five-speed manual transmission. The double-overhead-camshaft, 16valve engine adopts an advanced low emission air passage and combustion chamber technique with a continuously variable valve timing mechanism and optimised intake and exhaust system design.

The availability of both the diesel and petrol engine variants is also set to offer greater flexibility for customers in servicing their transportation needs.

“BCM is offering the View C2 model in both high-roof window van and standard roof panel van configurations for a wide range of transport applications. Both designs are available as a 10-seat passenger window van as well as two-seat van in cargo form measuring 4,840mm in length, 1,695mm in width and riding on a 2,570mm wheelbase. The highroofed van measures a height of 2,240mm for ample headroom with 1,980mm on offer for the standardroof panel van.

“Since its arrival on Malaysian shores, the View C2 has struck a chord with enterprises, public agencies and individual customers. Featuring a strong, robust design as well as reputable performance, the View C2 is also equipped with class-leading technologies and refinements that provide great value, high efficiency and a fantastic driving experience.
