ACTOR GETS SERBIA PASSPORT

BELGRADE: Serbia has awarded citizenship to British actor Ralph Fiennes, the Novosti said Monday. The decision, dated Sept 7 and signed by Premier Ana Brnabic, was published in Serbia’s official gazette. Fiennes has been nominated for an Oscar for his roles in Schindler’s List and The English Patient. He is in Belgrade filming a story about ballet dancer Rudolf Nureyev. In 2010, he made his directorial debut with a Shakespeare adaptation of Coriolanus filmed in Belgrade. – dpa
