> Seven new scents for autumn

-

TIME to set aside summer fragrances; the light flowers and exotic fruits that remind us of gentle breezes on the beach are to be replaced with more intense scents this autumn. The main trend for the new season will be a profusion of floral notes, with orange blossom a key ingredient for several major perfume houses. Here are seven women's perfumes that will make an impression this autumn.

1 Gabrielle Chanel The most eagerly awaited perfume for the autumn of 2017 is the first new women's fragrance to be launched by Chanel since "Chance" in 2003. "Chanel Gabrielle" pays homage to the founder of the French fashion house and to all spirited, courageous, daring and passionate women. Olivier Polge created the perfume, which is composed of notes of ylangylang, jasmine, orange blossom and hint of tuberose. 2 La vie est belle L'Éclat by Lancôme This autumn will be marked by a fresh reinterpretation of Lancôme's "La vie est belle" with a bright, freshly compelling and mellifluous sillage. The fragrance was created by Dominique Ropion and Anne Flipo, who sought to explore different variants of orange blossom. The eau de parfum combines notes of bergamot, tangy mandarin, orange blossom, jasmine, roses, vanilla and sandalwood.

3 Black Opium Pure Illusion by Yves Saint Laurent For this autumn, Yves Saint Laurent Beauty has restyled the bottle for its "Black Opium" perfume which is now entwined in graphic glittering black ribbon which stands out in contrast against the crystalline pink of the flask. It is composed of sugared black coffee, white musk, white flowers, orange blossom, cedar and patchouli. 4 Eau de Velours by Bottega Veneta Bottega Veneta presents its "Eau de Velours" for the autumn, an adventurous and sophisticated new version of the Venetian luxury goods house's signature perfume. Suggestive of the velvety texture of rose petals, the fragrance was concocted by the team of perfumers Michel Almairac and Mylène Alran. It opens with notes of bergamot and pink pepper, which lead into rose, jasmine, plum and spices, over a base of patchouli and leather. 5 Kenzo World Intense by Kenzo A year after the launch of "Kenzo World", the French luxury goods house is back with a deeper and more addictive second version. Fran cis Kurkdjian and Maïa Lernout created this eau de parfum to give an impression of an overdose of black plum, amplified by notes of peony, jasmine and intense vanilla. For the new version, the iconic Kenzo World bottle has been tinted dark blue. 6 Girl of Now by Elie Saab The Elie Saab fashion house has extended its range of "Girl of Now" perfumes, which is entirely devoted to young women that are free, passionate and confident. Crafted by perfumers Sophie Labbé and Dominique Ropion, the perfume highlights different variants of almond to combine notes of pear, mandarin, roasted pistachio, bitter almond, Ormond flower – a co-distillate of orange blossom absolute and bitter almond essence – jasmine, magnolia, cashmeran, tonka bean, almond milk and patchouli.

7 La Fille de l'Air Iris by Courrèges Following on from "La fille de l'air" in 2015, Courrèges presents "La fille de l'air iris", a marine and floral version of the original fragrance. Suggestive of sea air and flowers, the new fragrance focuses on orange blossom which perfumer Fabrice Pellegrin has combined with notes of iris. All of this is packaged in a cylindrical flask with a spherical stopper. – AFP Relaxnews
