Asia’s Got Talent returns this October

-

AXN recently announced that the second season of Asia’s Got Talent will premiere on Oct 12 at 8.30pm on AXN and AXN HD (Astro channels 701/721). The hit reality singing series, which broke regional pay-TV ratings records in 2015, will feature over 165 dynamic acts representing 15 countries from around Asia. “The region’s favourite entertainment series is back, and it’s more mesmerising, dazzling, spellbinding, and funnier than before,” said Virginia Lim, senior vice president and head of content, production and marketing, Sony Pictures Television Networks, Asia.

“The first season of Asia’s Got Talent inspired a whole new generation of performers to audition this year, and take a shot at their dreams. As a result, AXN viewers can expect a powerful season in both the quality of the acts, as well as the storytelling that supports them.”

The winner of this year’s Asia’s Got Talent will receive US$100,000 (RM420,280).

The new season will see a myriad of acts spanning multiple genres including magic, dancing, singing, instrumental, martial and visual arts, as well as a few more unusual acts that are too tricky to define.

The judges are 16-time Grammyaward winner and music producer David Foster, singing sensation Anggun, and new to the series, multi-platinum recording artiste Jay Park. They will determine who goes through to the next round in the first five episodes.

But it is ultimately the audience who will play the ‘fourth judge’ in the semi-finals to determine the winner.

New hosts Alan Wong ( far left) and Justin Bratton ( left) will be cheering on the contestants and engaging with the audience.

Wong said: “Every act that we meet has a story and a dream. We feel privileged to be supporting the region’s most outstanding performers as the hosts of Asia’s Got Talent.”

Bratton added: “AXN viewers will be blown away by the calibre of the acts this season.

“There is so much personality and energy this time around, it’s a true reflection of the cultural diversity of our region.”
