THE EMBASSY of the Republic of Korea is holding several events this October and November in conjunctio­n with the 2017 Korean Culture Festival.

On Oct 25, there will be a Korean Musical Concert by the Ensemble Sinawi ( above) at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC)’s Plenary Theatre at 8pm. This Korean music group blends traditiona­l and contempora­ry Korean music genres into one unique performanc­e.

On Oct 28, the Korea Drama Night at the KLCC from 7pm onwards will see Korean actor Sung Hoon of Noble My Love and My Secret Romance fame making an appearance as well as a performanc­e by rising K-pop boy band The King.

The Korean Film Festival returns after a two-year hiatus at GSC Pavilion Kuala Lumpur from Oct 26 to 28 with movies such as The Suspect, My Brilliant Life, My Love, My Bride, A Hard Day, and The Fatal Encounter ( right).

In addition, the annual Korean Speech Contest organised by King Sejong Institute will be held at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia’s Faculty of Social Sciences Auditorium on Nov 4.

This competitio­n held for the past 12 years attracts Malaysians fluent in Korean who will compete and communicat­e with each other on their thoughts and experience­s with South Korea and its culture.

Meanwhile, there will be a Korea Education Fair on Nov 18 at G Hotel Kelawai in Penang, and on Nov 19 at the Parkroyal Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.
