HARRY KANE has admitted for the first time that his future may one day lie away from Tottenham when he refused to rule out a move in the long-term to Spain.

Reports from Europe claiming Spanish giants Real Madrid were preparing a £177 (RM988m)m bid for the striker were not being entertaine­d for a second by the north London club yesterday, who point out the club’s talisman is already under contract until 2022.

Kane himself was going through his paces at the Tottenham training ground with the England squad, more concerned about leading his country out last night against Slovenia in search of the win that would guarantee Gareth Southgate’s side a place in next summer’s World Cup finals.

However, Real Madrid’s former Tottenham star Gareth Bale always let it be known from an early age that he had ambitions to test himself abroad. The latest round of speculatio­n was an opportunit­y to find out if Kane had similar ambitions.

“I would never say no,” he replied. “I would never say yes. I think in football, you never know and you never rule out anything.

“It is not something that I definitely want to do but it could happen. You just never know.

“Like you said, at the moment, I am very happy where I am here – that is all that matters. We will see what happens, but for now that is all I am focusing on.”

Kane’s scintillat­ing September form, in which he scored 13 goals in eight games after a barren August, is said to have alerted Real Madrid to his talents.
