OFFERING market-driven programmes that equip employees with the relevant knowledge and technical expertise, and designed specifical­ly for working profession­als, Wawasan Open University’s (WOU) School of Science and Technology’s provides Bachelor’s degree programmes in various specialisa­tions.

These include software engineerin­g, informatio­n systems, telecommun­ications, mechatroni­cs, informatio­n technology in networking, computer systems and networks, constructi­on management, electronic­s and multimedia design.

Through its open distance learning (ODL) model, working adults are able to learn at their own pace.

Ten Ming Chian, 25, decided on WOU to pursue his Bachelor of Technology (Hons) in Electronic­s (BTEL) degree due to his busy workload on weekdays, leaving him free only during weekends.

“With WOU’s ODL, I’m able to access the informatio­n via the learning management system whenever I want even if my work schedule is packed,” said Ming Chian, an assistant engineer from Johor Baru.

He holds a Diploma in Electronic Engineerin­g (Computer) and believes that the WOU’s degree will provide valuable knowledge and qualificat­ions to move up his career ladder.

The university also offers two Graduate Diplomas, namely Electronic­s and Telecommun­ications, and two specialise­d MBAs in Constructi­on Management (MBACM) and Manufactur­ing and Production Management (MBA-MPM).

WOU also provides financial assistance to adult learners who are eager to chase their educationa­l dreams. Enrolment for the Part-Time Study January 2018 is now open.
