Cops’ bid to remand Boy Iman rejected
> Counsel says client already remanded in 6 separate courts
BUKIT MERTAJAM: The magistrate’s court yesterday rejected a police application for a remand order on DBI Properties managing director Datuk Noruliman A. Rahman.
The court also rejected the remand application of the company’s three other directors, aged between 30 and 45.
It is learnt that magistrate Dianne Ningrad Nor Azahar turned down the request after Noruliman’s counsel Faizul Mohd Nasir said his clients had been remanded previously by six separate courts.
Faizul said all his clients will be taken to the central Seberang Perai district police headquarters in Bandar Perda.
“All of them were released yesterday,” he told reporters at the Bukit Mertajam Court Complex.
On Oct 2, Noruliman, 37, also an actor known as “Boy Iman”, was detained at the Bukit Indah police station in Ampang for alleged involvement in a RM6.2 million property scam.
The police began investigations following reports on the scam allegedly involving DBI Properties and Syarikat Juta Kelulut Global Resources.
The actor was previously remanded in Ampang, Shah Alam, Muar, Sungai Petani, Kubang Pasu and Kangar.
It was also learnt that a total of 210 reports had been lodged against the actor and his company.
Penang Commercial Crime Investigation Department chief ACP Abdul Ghani Ahmad said Noruliman will be rearrested by the South Seberang Perai district police.
