A brandnew Note Fan Edition

-

THE NOTE7 was launched in late 2016, but users were asked to return their devices in a massive worldwide recall after battery issues were discovered.

Many Note7 owners whose devices were not experiencing any of the issues were reportedly reluctant to return them.

For these Note7 fans, Samsung Malaysia Electronics has decided to bring out the Galaxy Note Fan Edition, a new device engineered using available components from the Note7.

Samsung assures customers that this is not a refurbished version of the recalled Note7.

Samsung Malaysia Electronics IT and Mobile Business head K.M. Liew states: “The Galaxy Note Fan Edition is Samsung’s way of showing its commitment to Note fans.

“We work very closely with dedicated specialists to reuse and recycle unused components from the Note7 to form the Galaxy Note Fan Edition.”

BAt a recommended retail price that is RM600 lower than the Note7, the Note Fan Edition shares the same features as the Note7, including the enhanced S Pen that mimics the feel of writing on paper.

The brains of the Note Fan Edition is an Exynos 8890 Octa processor paired with 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of expandable storage. A 5.7in QuadHD Super Amoled touchscreen with a traditional 16:9 ratio makes the phone’s display.

For cameras, the Note Fan Edition is fitted with a 12MP 1/2.5in sensor with optical image stabilisation as a primary and a 5MP secondary. Both feature an f1.7 lens.

Note Fan Edition users can unlock their smartphone using iris and fingerprint recognition, use Bixby Home and Bixby Reminder, and not worry about the Note Fan Edition getting wet with its IP68 rating.

Unlike the Note7, the Note Fan Edition will run Android 7.1.1 Nougat and has a new and safe 3,200mAh battery which has been tested to meet industry standards. It’s also a little smaller than the one fitted on the Note7.

Samsung Galaxy Note Fan Edition will be available in blue coral and black onyx at RM2,599 from this Wednesday at all Samsung Experience Stores, authorised dealers and selected channel partners.
