KUALA LUMPUR: A real estate agent escaped unhurt when two men on two motorcycles fired two shots at her in Jalan Teratai 2, Setapak, here on Wednesday.

In the 5.30pm incident, a man wearing a helmet, approached the victim’s Mercedes-Benz while it was parked near her workplace and knocked on the window with an object believed to be a pistol.

The man instructed the 30-yearold victim to get out of her car, but she refused. Instead, she reversed and sped off.

Wangsa Maju district police chief Supt Mohamad Roy Suhaimi Sarif said as she was fleeing, the suspect fired a shot.

“Another man on a motorcycle suddenly tried to intercept her. A high-speed chase ensued and the victim collided with the second suspect in her bid to escape. That’s when she heard a second gunshot,” he said yesterday.

Upon reaching a safer place near Jalan Gombak, the victim contacted her boyfriend and subsequently lodged a police report.

“The car belongs to her boyfriend,” Mohamad Roy said, adding that police are now trying to identify the two suspects and their motive.

He said forensic inspection also revealed that the shots hit a tyre and a side mirror.

Mohamad Roy said the victim is a single woman and her boyfriend is also not married.

The case is being investigated under Section 3 of the Firearms (Increased Penalties) Act 1971.
