WHILE shopaholics can revel at another opportunity to shop, in this case they can also feel a lot better knowing the good that goes behind their spending.
The philanthropic arm of AirAsia Group – AirAsia Foundation, recently launched its social enterprise pop-up shop at klia2. Called “Destination:GOOD”, the store retails thoughtfully selected gift items, over 200 sustainably-produced products, from social enterprises across 25 Asean countries.
Ranging from organic produce, stationery items, accessories and home decor products from Malaysian Unity of Cultures (MUOC), Bingka KL, Batik Boutique, Selaka Kotagede, Rags2Riches, Folkcharm, Zo Project, etc. AirAsia Foundation executive director Yap Mun Ching mentioned that this endeavour, in partnership with Malaysia Airports, provides an international platform for the social enterprises to expand their business. “The opening of the store also marks Asean’s 50th anniversary in a meaningful way,” Yap added. To commemorate the occasion, the Xiao En Group, known in Malaysia in the bereavement care services industry, hosted its annual All Souls Day gathering at its premises in Xiao En Memorial Park, Nilai.
Prayers were offered for the deceased during the “Mass of All Souls Day” conducted by the on-going campaign (until stocks last), ideal this season of giving, offering GOOD boxes filled with attractive goodies that make ideal gifts, going at RM100.
