Ideal destination
MALAYSIA has positioned itself as an ideal higher education destination as it offers world-recognised learning programmes, reasonable tuition fees, as well as an affordable cost of living, said Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh.
Addressing some 50 delegates, including business players and recruitment agents from Kazakhstan, Idris said more students from that country should consider having their tertiary education here since there were direct flights between the two countries.
“Kazakhstan is an important partner to Malaysia in the higher education agenda, with potential collaboration between ministries, universities and institutions in both countries,” he said.
With Malaysia as an ideal higher education destination for Kazakhstan, there could be synergistic collaboration between the two countries to face the modern global industrial era, Idris said in his keynote address entitled “Developing Talents for the 4th Industrial Revolution”.
The workshop brought together 20 local educational institutions to meet the Kazakhstan delegation where both parties discussed ways to form partnership agreements for the recruitment of Kazakhstan students to pursue their education in this country.
According to an EMGS press statement, the workshop was held in conjunction with a seven-day working visit to Malaysia by the Kazakhstan delegation which would be taken to visit eight education institutions around Kuala Lumpur and Langkawi. – Bernama
