> Heriot-Watt University offers a free two-week study trip to its Edinburgh campus in the UK
HERIOT-WATT University was recently named the International University of the Year by The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2018. They are the first recipient in this new category of the awards that is regarded as the most authoritative in the UK.
This award serves as recognition of the university’s global presence with campuses in the UK, Dubai and Malaysia as well as partnerships in 150 countries with over 30,000 students worldwide.
In celebration of this prestigious award, Heriot-Watt University is offering those who enrol for its January 2018 intake a free twoweek study trip to its Edinburgh campus in the UK via its Experience Edinburgh programme. Those interested in the programme are encouraged to register by Dec 22 to qualify. This is part of the university’s initiative as a global university to not just provide quality education, but also international exposure to their students. Currently studying the Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering at Heriot-Watt University Malaysia is Nur Syahira Mohd Yahya (pix) who believes her education in this course is pivotal in broadening her horizons for her future pursuits. “Having an international qualification would certainly widen my scope of opportunities at a global level,” she said. Syahira said the university offered the programme she wanted to pursue with a different kind of environment where she can benefit from the best of the British curriculum in a local setting, which she finds is more conducive.
Across all universities, HeriotWatt University is in the ranks of the top 150 universities worldwide for Chemical Engineering and Civil and Structural Engineering according to the QS World University Rankings by subject 2017.
