APROPER and nutritious diet is very important in an infant’s growth and overall health. So when is baby ready for supplementary or solid food?

If the baby can control his tongue and neck movement well, or starts to make munching movements with his mouth, sits up with minimal support, like to put things in his mouth, and shows interest in what you are eating, then it is probably time to feed him with more varieties of supplementary food.

Taking care of baby, the household chores as well as a job is tiring for many parents. That is why Khind makes it easy for parents with its range of products that is simple and practical to use, without the hassle.

The 1.2-litre Khind Baby Porridge Cooker BP 12 ( right) can be your great helper to ensure your baby gets adequate nutrients despite your busy schedule.

You only have to prepare all the ingredients and set the programme and your baby porridge will be ready in two hours’ time.

The cooker, which comes with a high quality inner ceramic pot and glass lid, is programmed for four different phases of cooking according to the age of the infants.

Phase one is for infants aged from four to six months who can only take watery porridge.

Phase two will turn out less watery porridge for those aged six to eight months who are learning to chew and swallow.

Infants from eight to 12 months of age, who are ready for gastrointestinal digestion and absorption, will require phase three porridge which is a smooth puree form.

For infants one year and older who are transitioning from semi-liquid to more solid food, using phase four will turn out a thicker puree which will keep them fuller.

Baby Porridge Cooker BP 12 also comes with five types of pre-programme porridge menu, namely for seafood porridge, meat porridge, grain porridge, rice porridge and ribs porridge.

With microcomputer control, each of the programmes has a default optimum cooking time and automatic keep warm function for up to five hours.

You can also pre-set the cooker from up to nine hours and 59 minutes so that the food will be

cooked and ready for you when you need it. Besides cooking baby porridge, BP 12 is also perfect for cooking dessert soup for up to three servings.
