Tributes include MelakaManipal being the first private institution being granted a fiveyear accreditation by Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA)/ Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) Joint Technical Committee for its MBBS way back in 2009.
In 2011, the institution was awarded the BrandLaureate Superbrand Best in Education – Medicine, and accorded 6 Stars consecutively in various categories between 2011 and 2013 in the MoHE’s MyQuest ratings of private colleges.
Melaka-Manipal’s MBBS has been “around” since the late ‘90s. The alumni can be found practising their calling, very successfully too, all the way from the USA, across Europe and Asia to the land down under.
The BDS programme, in its own right, is such a lure that its “seats” are taken up a full 18 months ahead of its intake, and if one wishes to enroll for this exceedingly popular dental surgery undergraduate programme, the only way into it is via Melaka-Manipal’s homegrown FiS. The FiS students are given first sniff in applying for BDS before external candidates are considered.
The Foundation in Science is also a programme that has turned out to be hugely popular. At its launch in 2012, Melaka-Manipal was the first to include medicine and dentistry subjects in its Foundation curriculum.
