A STELLAR cast, a promise of an exciting story, and a compelling premise could not save this movie from failing to meet expectatio­ns.

From the posters to the trailers, moviegoers expected a tale of survival, but what we got instead is a sort of fantasy love story.

The story begins with two strangers stuck in an airport because of an incoming storm.

Determined to continue their journey, Alex Martin (Winslet) and Ben Bass (Elba) agreed to charter a plane from Walter (Bridges).

However, the plane crashes on a snowtopped mountain in the middle of nowhere.

What follows is not an exciting journey of survival, but a dull one that revolves around relationsh­ips and everyday interactio­ns.

I admit I am being harsh. But this movie is not what it advertises itself to be.

Instead, it is a film that you watch with your significan­t other. It has no real highs or lows, just a plateau with a payoff at the end.

You will not be disappoint­ed with Elba and Winslet. Their acting prowess deserves accolades.
