Malaysian architecture one day."
Commander Big Date Kicking off the festivities, Mido unveiled a brand new watch – Commander Big Date to inaugurate the jubilee and pay homage to the visionary founder. The new series of innovative models offer a generous date display while adopting the aesthetic inspiration from the symbolic Eiffel Tower.
Just like the bold and legendary architectural perfection, it has withstood the effects of time to retain an eternally youthful aspect.
In his speech, Linder said: “We are very delighted to share Mido’s long history and essential values with these new additions to the Commander series. The celebration of the 100th anniversary will continue throughout the year.” The Commander Big Date packs a strong visual immediacy, featuring a large date aperture at 6 o'clock on its Caliber 80 automatic movement. Poised in extremely pure sunray satin-finished dials for the silver models and protected by a sleek round case in satin-finished stainless steel, it is further enhanced by a polished-bezel. Measuring at 42mm in diameter with stripes of white Super-LumiNova® that lights up the indexes and hands, it offers perfect nighttime readability. Meanwhile, delicate touches of rose PVD on the bezel, crown and bracelet give the two-tone model a refined depth. The formidable autonomy is finely decorated with an oscillating weight adorned with Geneva stripes and the Mido logotype that can be admired through the transparent case back. It also comes in an antracite dial and stainless steel bracelet to reinforce its sporty demeanour. With the launch of the Commander Big Date, Mido is carrying on its watchmaking tradition and know-how.
