This year, households with a monthly income of less than RM3,000 will receive RM1,200 while those with incomes of between RM3,000 and RM4,000 will get RM900 each. Unmarried individuals earning less than RM2,000 a month will receive RM450.
“Our promise (made) five years ago in the Barisan Nasional manifesto was to increase BR1M to RM1,200 and the promise has been fulfilled.
“We will not make a promise if we think we cannot keep it,” said Najib, adding that to date, the government has fulfilled 97.6% of promises made in its manifesto in the last general election.

On another matter, Najib said RM564 million had been set aside for Phase 2 of the Bandar Pekan Flood Mitigation Project.
At the ground-breaking ceremony for the project, he said it would benefit more than 83,000 people in the area.
“This will complement Phase 1, that had been implemented at a cost of RM221 million. It will overcome the flood problem that Pekan residents have been facing for decades.”
“We are a government that is fair to all states. In fact, Kelantan also gets an allocation of RM800 million for flood mitigation.”
