Chalamet on a Hollywood roll

-

HOLLYWOOD’S next big thing, Timothée Chalamet ( below), is being tipped as one of the most promising actors of his generation, thanks to his performance in Luca Guadagnino’s Call Me By Your Name.

With this one movie, the breakout star has already won over Hollywood with his youthful energy, his spontaneity and his fresh appeal.

In Call Me By Your Name, the actor stole the show from his more experienced co-star, Armie Hammer ( The Social Network), with his portrayal of an adolescent who falls for an older man.

Indeed, his performance earned him a nomination for the best actor Oscar, where the 22-year-old newcomer and outsider faces household names like Gary Oldman, Daniel Day-Lewis, and Denzel Washington.

The actor also stars in another of this year’s Oscar contenders, Greta Gerwig’s Lady Bird, which has also been getting plenty of Oscar buzz.

His other projects for 2018 include a role in the upcoming Woody Allen movie, A Rainy Day in New York, starring Jude Law, Selena Gomez, Rebecca Hall and Diego Luna. In June, he starts filming The King, a historical movie heading to Netflix next year, where he will play King Henry V of England. The plot, set in the late 1300s, revolves around a prince whose brother is killed in battle right before his coronation. Chalamet’s Henry V, next in line to the throne, ascends to the crown in his late 20s, and is immediately tasked with preserving England as it goes to war with France in the destructive Hundred Years’ War. Davd i Michôd will direct, and rumours also link Robert Pattinson to the project. – Agencies
