PETALING JAYA: TA Global Bhd and its CEO Tiah Joo Kim have not been contacted by the United States’ Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) or any authorities with regard to a CNN report on investigations into negotiations and financing surrounding Trump International Hotel and Tower in Vancouver, Canada.

In a statement released to Bursa Malaysia, TA Global said the company and Tiah’s business relationship with the Trump Organisation extends only to a brand licensing and hotel management for the development of Trump International Hotel and Tower Vancouver, which was jointly developed by TA Global Bhd and Canada-based Holborn Group.

The brand licensing and hotel management agreements between Trump Organisation, Holborn Group and TA Global Bhd for Trump International Hotel and Tower Vancouver were entered into in March 2013, prior to Donald Trump’s announcement to run in the 2016 US presidential election, which he won.

The statement went on to say that neither TA Global nor Tiah has any interaction or business dealings with Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, who is under investigation over allegations of conspiring in the Russian tampering of the 2016 US presidential election.

On Bursa Malaysia yesterday, TA Global was down one sen to 33.5 sen with 744,000 shares traded.
