Loyalty rewards

> Use Petronas Mesra Card and receive customer-centric lifestyle compensations and benefits

-

I Tis said that in today’s world, repeat purchases are hinged on value otherwise known as the dollar-and-cent concept. Most conventional loyalty programmes are founded on the usual spend and earn mechanics where rewards have become almost predictable offering household gadgets and small gifts, and redemption frequency is subject to how avid a shopper one is.

Point-based loyalty programmes which have been around for decades, some centuries, have seen companies come up with their own branded loyalty cards. These give customers a sense of “belonging” and usually entice repeat purchases, aid in customer retention and improve acquisition efforts otherwise known as “the buying”. While nothing much has changed, Petronas Dagangan Berhad (PDB) takes a stand and puts its Mesra Card into the spotlight, reintroducing its loyalty programme as one that places greater emphasis on customers’ wants and needs. Established on the grounds of giving meaningful rewards, PDB informs that it understands the importance of establishing an emotional connection with its customers and seeing the rising cost of living, it has come up with ways to cushion the impact by offering instant and real benefits to Mesra Card members.

With immediate effect, Mesra Card members can earn points easier and faster, and enjoy greater value. For every litre of fuel purchased, Mesra Card members earn three points instead of one. Accumulated Mesra points can be used to redeem fuel or items from its Kedai Mesra convenience store.

Says PDB’s head of retail business Aadrin Azly ( pix, left), “This new point structure is one of the ways we aim to provide our customers with greater savings. They can redeem points in a faster and more convenient manner, at any of our over 1,000 stations nationwide.

Additionally, we have many rewarding programmes and campaigns running all year long. These are initiatives that have been specifically designed to meet the lifestyle needs of our customers, beyond our offerings at the station.”

Aadrin also gave an assurance that PDB has always kept its customers’ best interest at heart in all it does. “We hope our customers will be delighted in knowing this.”

Under its March Mania campaign, between March 19 and 25, customers who fuel up with a minimum of RM40 worth of Petronas Primax will receive RM1 off for any purchase made at Kedai Mesra.

Don’t forget that Mesra Card members can also get the Mesra Personal Accident (PA) Plan at a nominal 100 Mesra points (RM1) monthly, if they spend a minimum of RM100 per month at any Petronas station nationwide. The plan provides for 24/7 worldwide protection and covers up to RM50,000 in the event of unfortunate death or permanent disability. For more information on this plan, visit www.mymesra.com. my

Mesra Card customers can also expect upcoming announcements on Petronas’ daily, weekly, monthly and yearly rewards. These include special discounts and offers for daily gym usage, weekly dining out or movie passes, monthly telco bills, as well as yearly travel deals.

Taking loyalty to the next level, PDB will also be introducing a mobile app for Mesra Card customers to easily track their purchases, points and on-going promotions and campaigns.

Application of Petronas’ Mesra Card is easy and free, and can be done at any one of its over 1,000 nationwide stations. Otherwise, visit www.mymesra.com.my to sign up now.
