Let’s ‘yum cha’!

-

MALAYSIA boasts all sorts of tea beverages, from foamy teh tarik to traditional Chinese tea and aromatic masala tea and more. And what better way to enjoy these brews than to go out and “yum cha” – one of many leisure activities inspired by the country’s cultural diversity.

To build on this local tea-drinking culture, Starbucks Malaysia introduces the Bottled Tea-based Frappuccino, which further elevates the Starbucks experience of consumers beyond Malaysian shores.

Berjaya Food Trading Sdn Bhd senior business manager (CPG) Jordan Lung said Malaysia is the second country to launch this series which offers two new products in the ready-togo category – Bottled Matcha Tea Frappuccino and Bottled Black Tea Frappuccino.

The Bottled Matcha Tea Frappuccino is crafted with high-quality matcha powder from Jeju Island, South Korea. Undergoing a fine steaming and grinding process, the fresh spring tea leaves create a refreshing and delightful taste blended with quality milk from New Zealand.

Meanwhile, the Bottled Black Tea Frappuccino presents a combination of Sri Lankan Ceylon black tea, Dianhong tea from Yunnan Province in China and Assam tea from India.

The rich blend contains high quality milk from New Zealand to offer a specially formulated beverage that brings out the best in black tea, delivering a smooth, full-bodied flavour that lingers long after the last sip.

Starbucks’ Research and Development team traversed the globe to source the right teas only to offer more options in its high-quality Starbucks beverages.

To create tea beverages with distinct and smooth flavour that appeals to consumers, it spent almost a year searching for the right ingredients from distinguished tea producing regions.

Following several rounds of internal tests and consumer product testing, the final blends have resulted in the Starbucks Bottled Matcha Tea Frappuccino and Bottled Black Tea Frappuccino.

Each retails at RM12.50 and are now available at the bottled section of most premium supermarkets, petrol marts and major convenience stores across Malaysia.
