SE RDANG: Ti e s b e t ween Malaysia and China would be damaged if Pakatan Harapan (PH) wins power and cancels contracts between the two countries, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak warned yesterday.

“The other side has come up with a statement that they will cancel the contracts that we have signed with the Chinese government if they come into power. SEE REPORT ON

“The Opposition do not think of the interests of the rakyat. They are only playing politics to fulfil their personal agenda,” said Najib, who described PH’s pledge to review contracts signed between Malaysia and China as “irresponsible.”

“I magine if you sour your relationship with China. (They) will not buy our products, (including) our palm oil. Imagine what would happen to our economy,” he said at the launch of an e-commerce micro-financing fund for Malaysian Chinese youths.

At the event, Najib announced that RM25 million will be channelled to the E-commerce Micro Credit scheme for the benefit of Chinese entrepreneurs aged between 18 and 45.

The scheme is accessible to any Malaysian Chinese who wants to participate in the digital transformation journey.

“Let me urge Chinese youths and small and medium enterprises to take this golden opportunity to make your own digital transformation a success, and to play the fullest part in making our Transformasi Nasional 2050 a reality.”

He s a i d 4 1 Chi n e s e - b a s e d associations and chambers of commerce will join the scheme as strategic partners.

At a gathering of national silat practitioners at SMK Sungai Pusu in Gombak later, Najib said victory in the 14th general election (GE14) can only be achieved by those who hold to the principle of being loyal to their leader.

He said such loyalty should not be given to him in a personal context but through the post he holds as the top leader of the country.
