IPOH: Police believe they have solved the murder of a man in Grik who was allegedly trapped in a love triangle involving his former wife, her male companion and another man early this month.

All three were arrested on April 10 in Grik and later confessed to the murder. They have been remanded until today.

Perak CID chief SAC Yahya Abd Rahman said investigations revealed the 38-year-old deceased had been trying to reconcile with his former wife recently after they divorced in December last year.

“They were married one year before, however, the 38-year-old woman, a contractor, was already in a relationship with her current boyfriend,” he told reporters yesterday.

The 42-year-old boyfriend, a civil servant with three children led a police team to his mother’s house in Kampung Jong, Grik where they recovered a Colts Convenent pistol and 35 bullets.

“Yahya said two handphones belonging to the deceased were found in some bushes under a bridge at Km22 Jalan GrikKupang.

“The suspect told us he smuggled the pistol from a neighbouring country.

“We will submit the investigation papers to the DPP for further instructions ,” he added.

The 35-year-old male accomplice, an odd job labourer is in police custody to facilitate investigations.
