Kevin Mo­rais case: Court vis­its three lo­ca­tions

KUALA LUMPUR: The judge and all par­ties in­volved in the mur­der trial of deputy pub­lic prose­cu­tor (DPP) Datuk An­thony Kevin Mo­rais yes­ter­day vis­ited three lo­ca­tions around Jalan Du­ta­mas, in­clud­ing the place where he was ab­ducted while on his way to work on Sept 4, 2015.

The two other lo­ca­tions were Mo­rais’ house at Me­nara Duta Con­do­minium, Jalan Du­ta­mas Raya, and the place where a Mit­subishi Tri­ton four-wheel-drive ve­hi­cle with four men in­side crashed into a Pro­ton Per­dana car with Kevin Mo­rais at the wheel.

High Court judge Datuk Az­man Ab­dul­lah, to­gether with the pros­e­cu­tion team, headed by DPP Sai­ful Edris Zain­ud­din, the de­fence team and the ac­cused in the case – R. Din­ish­waran, A. K. Thi­nesh Ku­mar, M. Vish­wanath, S. Ni­malan, S. Ravi Chan­daran and army doc­tor Colonel Dr R. Ku­nasee­garan – left for the lo­ca­tions at 9.30am, es­corted by the po­lice.

They had gath­ered at the Jalan Duta Court Com­plex and then went to the first lo­ca­tion at the Me­nara Duta Con­do­minium, about 1.4km away, be­fore go­ing to the traf­fic light in­ter­sec­tion, about 500m from the con­do­minium, where the crash in­volv­ing the Mit­subishi Tri­ton and Mo­rais’ car took place.

DPP Wan Sha­harud­din Wan Ladin told re­porters that the visit was made to pro­vide a bet­ter un­der­stand­ing of the case for both the pros­e­cu­tion and the de­fence team. – Ber­nama
