IT is important to contribute every once in a while, particularly towards concerns that will benefit the next generation. Whatever the form of donation; for even a little aid or a helping hand will help them rise beyond their limitations.

Recognising the importance of this social virtue, Berjaya Times Square Hotel Kuala Lumpur put together a special day for the children of Sekolah Kebangsaan Pendidikan Khas Jalan Peel – a school that equips special needs individuals with necessary practical and social skills to have a better chance at tackling life in their older years.

Driven by its Corporate Social Value programme, Berjaya Times Square Hotel’s latest initiative was spearheaded by its Kitchen Department. Representatives from other departments such as Human Resource, Finance, Front Office and Engineering, joined in to help.

Despite the rain, 34 Berjaya Times Square Hotel associates pushed onward to complete restoration work of the school’s compound. The team painted weathered wall, gates and entrance signage after being briefed by the welfare home’s management.

Once that was completed, they moved to clean the school compound to ensure cleanliness was up to standard and the environment suitable for the children. Going above and beyond, the Kitchen hands then utilised their talent and provided a tantalising spread for the students and teachers, complete with cupcakes decorated by the school children. The hotel’s area general manager Mondi Mecja was delighted on the endeavour which he said was an expression of love, care and empathy for the community.

Those who wish to donate to the school can call 0392851320 or email wrkpeel@ tm.net.my
