EGYPT is hard at work to win back tourists, taking major steps this year to develop and open cultural sites to make the country more attractive to visitors.

The Egyptian Tourism Authority said that services at the pyramids of Giza will be expanded, while new augmentedreality screens will also help visitors get a feel for the interior design of the pyramids. Also, a pedestrian zone is planned for the Giza plateau. The planned new Grand Egyptian Museum near Cairo is set to open late in 2018 with numerous ancient artefacts, according to tourism authorities.
