Splashing good fun at Sunway’s Aqua Run

-

ON April 22, over 800 runners gathered at Sunway Lagoon’s surf beach for the second Aqua Run fun run. The 3.5km track spanned across all six of the theme park’s areas and featured 12 fun zones.

The run began with a Zumba session at the park’s Surf Beach, getting everyone pumped up and ready to enjoy themselves.

Designed to give each runner the ‘Best Day Ever’, Aqua Run 2 took runners through obstacles like the Puddles Mattress, Daredevil Sp lash Mountains ( far right), Kiddie Pool Arena, Rain Shower, Wet Blocks, Zambezi River Adventure, Water Boogie Disco, Avalanche Peak ( above), and Commando Flood Tunnel. Fourteen-year-old Mohd Fauzan ( left) was the first runner to successfully finish all 12 fun zones, earning himself bragging rights, along with a shiny finishers’ medal. As a part of the activities, there was also a Photo-Op Challenge. Guests were encouraged to take photos, and tag them with #SunwayLagoonMY and #SLAquaRun2 hashtags. To facilitate the challenge, each runner was also provided with a Sunway Lagoon waterproof phone pouch.

The run finally ended with a Music Party, where everyone managed to have one final danceoff before drying off. Runners were then given full access to the theme park for the rest of the day.

Sean Choo, general manager of Sunway Lagoon, said: “With over 90 rides across 80 acres of space, Sunway Lagoon continues to offer a wonderful place for family and friends to get together and have fun. Following the success and overwhelming response for last year’s inaugural Aqua Run, we have decided to hold this year’s edition on a larger scale and greater than before.”

“We are really happy that each campaign attracts a tremendous turnout as it proves that we are heading in the right direction to appeal to the public, and to continuously provide new experiences for each guest that comes to our park.” – Azizul Rahman Ismail
