Need a ride? Book one with Eevom

-

PETALING JAYA: Commuters looking for a ride in the Klang Valley can now opt to book one with the newly-launched Eevom.

The e-hailing service founded in February last year was launched in the Klang Valley after a series of tests with a selected group of drivers and passengers since August last year.

Eevom riders get to enjoy low prices and great rewards, while its drivers will keep 92% of earnings out of every ride completed.

Passengers are also able to enjoy a flatrate fare on SPAD-registered taxis booked through its app.

“We think that if you treat drivers better, passengers will enjoy a better ride.

“Eevom takes only 8% out of every ride from drivers, and thus allows drivers to keep most of their hard-earned money,” its executive director, Kenny Koay, said.

Equipped with real time GPS tracking and upfront pricing, Eevom’s app, which is free to download at the Apple App Store and Google Play, instantly matches riders with its closest drivers.

The user-friendly app, which is able to handle a maximum of 50,000 bookings per second, allows riders to make advanced or immediate bookings.

Eevom is also launching the “lady driver, lady passenger” option incorporated into its app. The option lets a female driver choose only to pick up female passengers and vice versa.

All Eevom drivers come from the upper-tier of the defunct Uber, which ended its run in April.

The service is only available in Klang Valley for now but the company is looking to expand to other parts of Malaysia soon.

Eevom offers low prices with many car category options – from economy to luxury – to riders in selected areas.

For instance, an Eevom economy ride from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) to Bukit Bintang, Brickfields and Taman Desa only costs RM55.

To further reward riders for using Eevom, the company is also giving out Parkson gift vouchers to lucky riders every fortnight. There are rewards for drivers too. “Drivers who sign up with Eevom are provided with the opportunity to earn up to RM1,000 on rider referrals.

“This is not mandatory but up to drivers to take up the offer,” said Eevom chief operating officer Mahendran Sukamaran.
