MANAGEMENT Development Institute of Singapore (MDIS) has enjoyed 61 years of excellence as an established education institution. Its focus is to produce graduates who are competent, capable, effective, efficient and productive, and able to work with minimum supervision.

Its branch in Malaysia, Kolej MDIS Malaysia aims at turning out quality manpower while shaping the future generation of business leaders. Recognising the importance of strong and solid education that provides a seamless transition for students into the business world, the college offers key programmes under its School of Business and Management.

These are designed to prepare students with international knowhow and knowledge in management, ideal with the increase in demand by multinational corporations in areas of accounting and management. Moreover, the college’s approach to education also focuses on employability. It practises sending its students for internships, which is a stepping stone for students from all backgrounds and provides an opportunity to learn the ropes of the working environment. A broad spectrum of teaching methods is also employed to extend a rich and relevant learning experience.

With such programmes aimed at meeting the increasing demand for graduates equipped with understanding of international business know-how, Kolej MDIS Malaysia is poised to be a key contributor to the manpower needs in the Iskandar region.

Kolej MDIS Malaysia has a RM350 million permanent campus in EduCity, Iskandar Putri in Johor in the making. The site for the sprawling campus spreads across 30 acres. It is accommodated with good infrastructure, logistics and other physical amenities and facilities, alongside education institutions in EduCity such as Newcastle University, University of Southampton, Netherlands Maritime Institute of Technology, University of Reading, and the Multimedia University.

The campus, once completed, will boast state-of-the-art facilities and amenities with eco-friendly and disability-friendly features.

It will have filming, radio and audio studios, editing room, a hospitality training centre, computer laboratories, prayer rooms, two canteens catering to halal and non-halal menus separately, food and beverage outlets, 500-seat auditorium, a multi-purpose hall as well as sports and recreation facilities.

In line with MDIS’ global “Green Campus” philosophy, the integrated cutting-edge campus will be fitted with solar panels, rainwater collection tanks and green walls that can save up to 10% of costs, annually, in energy and water.

Kolej MDIS Malaysia now operates from its temporary campus at City Square in Johor Baru. Once all three phases of the Malaysia campus is ready, the college will be able to accommodate over 10,000 students.
