SHAH ALAM: Police arrested two men after getting a tip-off about a house breakin in Section 24 from the owner who had just arrived home from the Aidilfitri holidays. They arrived at the scene within four minutes.

Shah Alam district police chief ACP Baharudin Mat Taib said police were alerted about a house break-in on Saturday at about 9.15pm.

“Our district control centre were alerted to the break-in. The complainant had informed us that someone had broken into his house and left his house gate open.

“We alerted our patrol cars on duty immediately and they arrived at the scene within four minutes,” he said yesterday.

Baharudin said upon arriving, the policemen realised that the suspects were still in the house.

The suspects tried to prevent the cops from entering the house by holding fast to the door.

“The policemen subsequently barged into the house and arrested the suspects. The house was in a mess,” he added.

Checks on the suspects found they had hidden several expensive items belonging to the house owner in their backpack.

Police seized a laptop, two digital cameras, 14 handphones, and a power bank.

The suspects, who were in their early 30s, tested positive for syabu.

Further checks revealed that the duo were involved in several drug-related offences and house break-ins before this.

The case is being investigated under Section 457 of the Penal Code for house break-ins.
