It’s Noor Azmi’s choice: DPM

SHAH ALAM: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail said the Pakatan Harapan (PH) government welcomes any state assemblyman or MP who wants to help the country.

She was referring to Bagan Serai MP Datuk Dr Noor Azmi Ghazali (pix), who quit Umno yesterday.

“He has made his choice,” she told reporters when met at the Selangor state-level Hari Raya open house yesterday.

However, the PKR president did not want to comment if PH would accept the MP and said she would leave it to Perak PH to decide.

Noor Azmi yesterday announced he was leaving Umno and Barisan Nasional with immediate effect.

Meanwhile, Wan Azizah said her husband, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, is in stable condition after a health scare on Saturday night, as he complained of shoulder and back pain and had to be warded.

“The doctors saw him. He is better. I saw him before I came here,” the Pandan MP added.
