Expression of patriotism

ADDING to the growing pool of donations collected via Tabung Harapan Malaysia (THM) is MBSB Bank Berhad (MBSB) who responded to the call to alleviate the country’s debt with its contribution of RM1 million.

The substantial contribution was presented to Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng and Secretary General of Treasury Datuk Seri Dr Ismail Bakar at an event in Putrajaya. Representing MBSB was its chairman Tan Sri Abdul Halim Ali and its president and CEO Datuk Seri Ahmad Zaini Othman.

“This is our way of expressing patriotism for the country. Malaysia is our home and now, there is a need for us to join hands in donating to THM,” said Ahmad Zaini, who is also confident that the country’s economic outlook will regain its strength despite the current situation.

Speaking briefly on the bank, Ahmad Zaini emphasised the need for MBSB to remain competitive in the industry. He said that by year end, the bank will be providing key payment services to customers, besides implementing local and foreign transactions, and launching Retail Internet Banking (RIB) and Corporate Internet Banking (CIB) facilities.

“We are progressing positively and on track with the organisation’s key objectives, which is to be a top, progressive Islamic bank in the country” concluded Ahmad Zaini.
