Babysitter’s remand extended

KUALA LUMPUR: The Selayang magistrate’s court yesterday extended for another seven days the remand order on a woman in connection with the death of a five-month-old baby, Adam Rayqal Mohd Sufi.

The order issued by magistrate Nurul Izzah Hasan Basri will start today.

The 33-year-old babysitter and another woman, 36, were remanded for a week last Wednesday to facilitate investigat­ions into the death of the baby.

The boy was reported missing from the babysitter’s house last Tuesday. His body was found in the freezer compartmen­t of a fridge at the house by police.

A post-mortem at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital revealed that Adam Rayqal died due to severe head injuries from blunt force trauma. – Bernama
