Football fever

Ron Yap, a friend who has been rooting for Germany because of a newfound sweetheart from Munich, told me that he would watch night matches at a drinking hole if he was in the mood, but would rather watch the early morning matches at home.

“It’s because if I want to tilt my head to sleep, I can do so easily at home. But I can’t do that if I’m watching from elsewhere,” explained the aviation public relations specialist.

As with every major football competitio­n, there’ve been cruel decisions, unfortunat­e incidences, and happy outcomes. Certain scenes will be etched in our minds for a long time.

For me, I’m just elated to again enjoy the greatest football show on earth, incident-free.
