MOST cosmetics stores offer lipstick testers, and you might think the obvious thing to do with them would be to apply them directly to your lips.

In 27th place on the list is Kylie Jenner, the reality TV star-turned-cosmeticsCEO who has amassed a US$900 million (RM3.6 billion) fortune from “Kylie Cosmetics”, the online make-up brand she founded in just 2015 with her debut “Lip Kits”. The star has since gone on to expand her rapidlygrowing portfolio to include products for eyes, lips and face, and tools such as make-up brushes.

HUDA KATTAN

Huda Kattan began her beauty career as a makeup artist and blogger, before going on to found her own line of false eyelashes in 2013. Her “Huda Beauty” cosmetics brand now spans eye, lip and face make-up and has earned Kattan US$550 million (RM2.2 billion), and spot number 37 on the list.

ANNE WOJCICKI

Anne Wojcicki’s personal genomics company “23andMe” allows users to use DNA samples to find out more about their ancestry and family history. It has made her US$440 million (US$1.76 billion) and garnered her spot number 44 on the list.

KIM KARDASHIAN WEST

Jenner’s older sister Kim Kardashian West put her own stamp on the beauty industry last year, with the launch of her “KKW Beauty” and “KKW Fragrance” brands. Both have seen incredible success since their conception, netting Kardashian US$350 million (RM1.4 billion). She is placed at number 54 on the list. – AFP Relaxnews TOOFACED could be set to double down on its debut into skincare by expanding its range.

The make-up brand’s co-founder and CEO, Jerrod Blandino, has hinted in an interview with HelloGiggles that a full skincare line could be on the way, following the label’s debut in December, when it launched its cult “Glow Job” face mask.

“I’m actually tip-toeing in skin care based on our Hangover line,” Blandino told the publication. “So taking everything you love about our Hangover primer, and taking all of its skin carebased ingredients, and jumping off and creating some skin care products.”

The current “Hangover” line comprises a face primer and a 3-in-one setting spray, with both products using coconut water, suggesting that a corresponding skincare range could also feature the popular beauty ingredient.

TooFaced is one of multiple beauty brands to have turned their attention to skincare recently. Vegan company Tarte recently announced the re-launch of a sister brand, “Awake”, focusing solely on skincare, while nail polish brand Nails Inc. has been building up a face and body mask collection since late 2016. Conversely, June saw cult skincare
