Fans call for Mourinho to be sacked

-

MANCHESTER UNITED fans have turned on manager Jose Mourinho for what he said after his side 0-0 draw against San Jose Earthquakes yesterday.

United are still searching for a win on their USA tour after a 1-1 result against Club America where they looked equally as toothless.

The Red Devils welcomed back Alexis Sanchez yesterday, but were unable to break down the MLS side.

Jose Mourinho was visibly disappointed in his post-match interview and took the opportunity to criticise his current crop of players.

New arrivals Fred and Diogo Dalot were snapped up with relative ease early on but since there has been little action.

Mourinho had wanted a new centreback, leftback and potentially a right winger but it now looks likely he will have to settle with just the former.

“One more training session,” he said of the 0-0 result. “We are not a team, we are a group of players from different teams. Some are first team, some are U23s, some are going on loan, some are U18s. We don’t have a team to play much better than we did.”

However, United fans weren’t happy about the seemingly negative comments about the side not being “a team”.

“I know I’m being quite rash but honestly there’s been no change from last season in terms of creating chances,” one fuming supporter wrote.

“We can buy whoever we want but we will still play like s*** and that’s because of Mourinho – get him out.”

Another added: “Jose makes me hate watching Man Utd.”

It isn’t just fans who reckon the Portuguese boss could get the boot. Some bookies have odds as low as 4/1 for him to be sacked by the end of the season. – Daily Star
