Mooncakes in aid of NKF

-

THE National Kidney Foundation (NKF) Malaysia is partnering with the Oversea Restaurant group for its annual mooncake charity project.

All proceeds from this initiative will be channelled towards the treatment and support of underprivileged dialysis patients, as well as funding NKF’s efforts to educate the public about kidney disease.

The custom-designed gift box this year comes in earthy tones representing elegance, reliability, and warmth, associated with origin of the festival.

The mooncakes, which come in a custom-designed gift box, are 100% halal certified. They are available in either a four-piece set (Type A) with a donation of RM68 per box or a six-piece premium set (Type B) with a donation of RM88 per box.

The four-piece set features one pure lotus paste mooncake, one lotus paste with single yolk, one golden starlight single yolk, and one green tea with red bean. The six-piece set offers one white lotus paste single yolk mooncake, one lotus paste with double yolks, one pure golden starlight, one green tea with red bean, one assorted fruits and nuts, and one Shanghai single yolk mooncake.

Members of the public can also sponsor mooncakes which will be distributed to NKF patients and their families to extend the Mid-Autumn Festival celebration to those in need.

According to NKF chief executive officer Chua Hong Wee, every year the NKF subsidises the dialysis treatment costs for 1,600 patients who are undergoing treatment at its 28 dialysis centres nationwide.
