THREE more charges
Razak will face at least three fresh charges today related to the RM42 million scandal involving SRC International Sdn Bhd – a former s ubsidiary of s t a t e - owned i nvestment a r m 1 Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).
Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) deputy chief commissioner (operations) Datuk Seri Azam Baki, who confirmed this to theSun, said Najib will be taken to sessions court here today to be charged.
It is learnt that the charges against Najib are related to moneylaundering under the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti- Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act 2001.
This will bring to seven the total number of charges against Najib since last month.
On July 4, Najib was charged with three counts of criminal breach of trust (CBT) and another for power abuse involving the RM42 million linked to SRC International.
Earlier yesterday, Najib was ordered to show up at the MACC Academy at Bukit Tunku here at 5pm where he was questioned for 45 minutes by investigators over a s eparate probe f or money laundering involving SRC.
A day before he was charged last month, Najib was arrested at his house in Taman Duta and taken to the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya where he spent a night at the commission’s lock-up before being taken to court the next day.
