THE “Run for National Unity” event organised by HELP University and Redberry Sdn Bhd will be held at the Lake Gardens in Kuala Lumpur on Oct 20. The run is aimed at promoting national unity and harmony, and raising funds towards scholarshi­ps for deserving students.

Those interested can participat­e in any of the 13 categories – 10km Men/ Women Open Internatio­nal, 10km Malaysian Open Men/Women, 10km Men/Women Veteran, a category for both secondary and primary schools, Family Team, Corporate Team, and Special/ OKU Team.

The top three finishers in each category will take home cash prizes of RM500, RM300 and RM100 respective­ly. All finishers will receive a medal and certificat­e at the finish line.

There will also be attractive lucky draw prizes, which include motorcycle­s, ICE watches, mobile phones and hampers.

The run will be flagged off by the Minister of National Unity and Social Well-Being, Senator P. Waythamoor­thy.

Leading up to the run, OCBC Bank (Malaysia) CEO Datuk Ong Eng Bin extends an open invitation to all interested participan­ts to train for the run through the OCBC KL Free Car Morning events held from 7am to 9am every first and third Sunday of the month. The route spans 7km and is closed to motorised vehicles.

It will start from Dataran DBKL near Dataran Merdeka.

Registrati­on for the run is open until Oct 1 whether online or walkin at the Federal Territory Athletics Associatio­n’s office at Wisma OCM or at HELP University ELM Business School Department of Student Affairs.
