Call for funds for SJK (C) Manong

-

THE 14th run of Eu Yan Sang’s “One Year One School” annual charity project took off recently. The project was initiated in 2005 to raise funds for secondary and primary schools in need of software, hardware or aid in operating costs. Its aim: to allow teachers to teach, and students to learn, in more conducive environments.

This year, SJK (C) Manong, Kuala Kangsar, Perak was the recipient school. Built in 1937, wear and tear over the years saw the school in dilapidated conditions. Parts of the building had eroded, there was termite infestation, parts of its ceiling were leaking and severely damaged, and wooden boards and beams had collapsed. Though considered a “dangerous building”, the school was still being used.

It was a blessing when Eu Yan Sang offered to raise funds through the sale of its Chicken Essence with Gingko Biloba Extract. Those who wish to make contributions can make cheques to “Tabung Pembangunan SJKC Manong” and drop it into the “One Year One School” donation boxes placed at all Eu Yan Sang outlets in Malaysia. Direct debit is also accepted, made to BSN Account No: 0824629000044125.

“Eu Yan Sang hosts charity events each year, comprising the ‘Bucket of Gold’ and ‘One Year One School’ campaigns. These are part of the company’s CSR undertakings, aligned with the company’s core principles of caring for mankind and giving back to society,” said Eu Yan Sang managing director Eric Chiu ( fifth from left).
