Uniqlo Malaysia launches UT Wear Your World event
UNIQLO Malaysia has launched the UT Wear Your World Event on the ground floor of 1 Utama Shopping Centre (New Wing). The onground activation will run until Sunday and will highlight the latest UT collection from Bandai Namco Entertainment and Taito; Japanese Manga – Jump, Asian stenciled art – Katagami and the blue hues of Hokusai Katsushika; Disney range and SPRZ Art featuring Keith Haring, Andy Warhol and Jean Michel Basquiat.
The UT philosophy is that a t-shirt is more than just a t-shirt. It is an expression of who you are. Where you’ve been. What you love. And with hundreds of limited edition t-shirts to choose from each year, you’ll always find one that says exactly how you feel.
The collaboration with Bandai Namco Entertainment will reproduce 8-bit visuals from classic games such as Pacman. From Taito, UNIQLO has produced Space Invaders tees and Space Invaders will be celebrating its 40 years since its creation in 1978.
For the Disney range, UNIQLO has partnered with Kate Moross, a 32-year-old designer whose aesthetic veers towards eye-catching typography and vivid and clear pops of colour, often incorporating rainbow hues into her work. As such, this UT collection will depict Moross’ signature design aesthetic with usage of typography and squiggles incorporated on Mickey and Minnie Mouse with vibrant splashes of colours.
UNIQLO Malaysia has turned the concourse into an experiential exhibition for visitors to experience 80s nostalgia with a Pacman challenge where the top five scorers stand to win amazing prizes. There are claw machines with loads of UNIQLO goodies and personalised photo booths to turn the space into a fun and wholesome day out for family and children. – Alex Chai
