United must sack Jose now: Parker

-

MANCHESTER UNITED boss Jose Mourinho must be sacked immediately, according to club legend Paul Parker.

A shocking week for Mourinho went from bad to worse on Saturday when West Ham easily beat the Red Devils at the London Stadium.

Manuel Pellegrini managed just his second win as the Hammers boss after Felipe Anderson, a Victor Lindelof own goal and Marko Arnautovic gave them a 3-1 victory.

It leaves United with just 10 points in seven games and already nine points off the top of the table – their worse start to a league campaign in 29 years.

And United legend Parker reckons that the club must axe Mourinho before it gets any worse.

The 54-year-old was “disgusted” by the lack of effort being showed by the players at the weekend.

“I was there at the weekend and I’ve never seen it so obvious since I’ve been watching Manchester United that the players are not fussed, they’re not bothered, they don’t care,” he told Love Sport Radio. “I watched that third goal go in and I was absolutely disgusted. “I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. What was the central midfield player, a player who I’ve watched in the U-23s at Manchester United, an attacking central midfield player by the way, Scott McTominay, doing playing in a back three and then a back two when you’ve got Eric Bailly on the bench? I’ll never know. “When you’re playing the game, you want to give 100% and you should be trying to give 100% but it may not be good enough on that day. “If Jose is saying he’s giving 100%, it’s not good enough for Manchester United at this moment and quite a bit before that as well.Manchester United haven’t evolved really since he’s been there,” he said.

“We can talk about two trophies, two trophies which he deemed meaningless before he joined Manchester United but he absolutely adored them when he became Manchester United manager.

“We have to look at performances and performances from day one haven’t been good enough. When you employ Jose Mourinho, you might get someone who can maybe win you trophies but you have to put up with everything else that goes with it,” Parker added.

“He was never right for Manchester United and that has been proven by what has happened now. There are too many unhappy people.

“People can blame up top, they can blame Jose but at the end of the day you have to look at the person who is actually failing the ship and that is Jose Mourinho. He has not done his job properly.” – Daily Star
