Night of musical theatre

CATCH the musical theatre performance of Phantom from West End at the Grand Ballroom of Tropicana Golf & Country Resort tonight at 8.30pm.

This concert is organised in collaboration with award-winning bi-lingual theatre company Dama Asia.

It stars internationally-acclaimed singer-actor in musical theatre and West End actor-singer Nigel Richards ( below, right).

He played the Phantom in Phantom of the Opera and Quasimodo in Notre Dame de Paris, and has appeared in Les Misérables and South Pacific. He was also a soloist in the BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall.

Richards will be supported by Malaysia’s own award-winning musical actress and singer Tan Soo Suan ( below, left).

Tan is a Boh Cameronian best musical actress winner for her lead role in Empress Wu. Her stage credits included Butterfly Lovers – The Musical, I Have a Date With Spring, Glitz & Glamour, Larger Than Life (Broadway and West End), The Legends, In Perfect Harmony and Spring Kisses Lover’s Tears.

Her recorded song, Eternally, was featured in the film, I Don’t Want to Sleep Alone, at the Venice International Film Festival 2006.

Tan and Richards will be accompanied on the piano by Samuel Tan

The musical concert will feature some of the best-loved songs from Broadway and West End musicals such as The Phantom of the Opera, West Side Story, Evita, Les Miserables, Cats and The Bodyguard.
